Description (brief)
War shield used in the past during head hunting raids. Today carried when attending festivities. The shield is decorated with squating human figures in relief. Between the knees and elbows square and oval shapes are depicted. These shapes refer to the female navel, a symbol for the source of all life. The shield also features mirrored images of praying mantises.
