Description (brief)
Wooden panel, oblong shaped with rounded top in which an eye is carved to enable the object to hang from a wall. Three spiralled patterns are carved into the oblong section. The protruding parts are coloured black, the lower ones are unworked. This woodcarving is from the Sentani area. It was probably meant as wall decoration (similar boards with patterns from Sentani, Tanah Merah and other areas were produced at the university museum in Abepura for the tourist trade in the 1970s) The patterns were originally used for decorating praus and/or drums.
