The whole aviation has no purpose in mind: it is created to facilitate the proclamation of God's Word in a country where no good connections exist. On this slide, the then Bishop of Jayapura: Mgr. J. Munninghof OFM. comes from a trip back to the interior. He is currently Emeritus, eighty years old and is likely to remain in the country, where he was a big part of his life.

A pilot had made a stupid mistake, so long finally flew, until he ran out of gasoline, and when he had to land in the fog! After all, it came to an good end, but the airplane had damage. Using a helicopter from an oil company the airplane was brought to a bigger place, where it was temporarily fixed and then it came back in Sentani. Obviously you can see the damage to the wing. Worse, however, the appearance of the landing gear: there was a crack in and a second landing had the unit probably not have survived.

Refuelling an aircraft requires two people, one on the wing to hold the hose and one at the pump.

Market in Sentani. They had no building at that time - maybe now - and so found the whole business just on the side of the road place. Helpful people buy fish early in the market in Jayapura, Sentani and drive quickly to sell their trade there.

Near the lake Sentani are a large number of fishponds, dating back to the "colonial" period. The intention was then to breed fish and then set them out into the lake. It was started again, to use them. Perhaps this is now again flourished. Also in Moanemani it has a set of ponds, not as great as here.

There is even a ferry. Roads are not in very good condition, and must be from one side to another, taking this boat is the best option.
