Here we see a beatiful canoe in Sentani Lake. These guys are artistically laid out, even to their homes was often made carvings.

In Jayapura, one can see heavier boats with outriggers, which go for the big fish. They still have courage to go of these often poorly maintained boats on the great lake.

Between the Tage lake and the Tigi lake is a more narrow connection. The former is much more higher than the second, the separation wall between the two lakes is a very porous limestone, through which water can seep from top to bottom. The mission boat lies for anchor here, when we were climbing up to a small community visiting the holy service. (it was on a Sunday morning.)

Canoes on the Wissel Lakes. Here one sees that the person is wrapped in his cloak, made of a certain kind of pandanus leaves. This cloak they have always in the carrying-net.
